This was a VERY sweet addition to the "Hooked" series. Tyler is a detective working cases involving exploited children. He's a hard man who has seen a lot of hard things in life. Jace is a complete sweetheart of a guy who has been so beaten down by other guys in his life that he has given up hope of ever finding 'the one.' He thought Tyler might have been a contender, but Tyler made stupid mistakes and hurt Jace.I fell in love with Jace who is funny and gentle and generous-hearted. He's also forgiving - hint, hint. I also loved Tyler who, at his core, is a good person who deserves someone like Jace. These guys are perfect for each other. While reading, I kept waiting for the big drama, the shocker, or the twist that would bring me to tears (like nearly all Parkerson's books do!) but there was no big event. This is a straightforward romance with very little angst, miscommunication, or silly drama. It's two guys who each deserve love and find it with each other.
Best parts of the book are the humorous / sassy lines when these guys talk. At one point Jace says to Tyler, "Come on darling, I don't do carpet burns for anyone. Not even someone as sexy as you."
Tyler tries to woo Jace and after some sass from Jace, Tyler thinks, "Jace was a little evil. G-d, Tyler loved that." And then later, Tyler says, "I'm trying not to sound like I'm twelve while asking you to be my boyfriend."
In this book, we also meet Jace's nephew who has embarked on a new career in NYC. His name is Adam and he's featured in the next book in this series. I highly recommend this series (must start at the beginning, though) or any of the Charity Parkerson series.

Tyler and jace have a few hurdles to jump, but I love how Adam is there to let tyler knows what's up, n Tyler has the balls to prove he's in it for all the right reasons. They both have troubled histories but they say love can concour all, and in their case it did. The last chapter looking into the next book... Can't wait!
I am a huge Charity Parkerson fan - I have read every book in the Hard Ht, Low Blow, and Hooked series. In fact , Unstable was my favorite Hooked installment, so I was really excited to see Jace & Tyler have their stories told. Unfortunately, this felt like nothing more than a prologue for Unmasked (coming in April). We get a brief visit from Jimmy & Eli but never really get to fully understand the reason behind the implied tension between Tyler & Jimmy. Tyler says repeatedly that he's not a good guy - why? Who knows??? We have the injection of best friend who suddenly becomes a crazy stalker & last minute introduction to so called cruel ex for no other reason than to seemingly provide some low angst/drama before the book ends. The two MCs are supposedly super hot for each other yet those scenes fall staggeringly short of the steam we've come to expect from this author. I will give unmasked a try cuz I an a die-hard fan but I hope I won't be as disappointed.
That I would want warming my bed and heart. He is pretty damn lucky to have found Jace. Another hit. Thanks CP
I'm so happy Tyler and Jace found each other and happiness. They just fit together.
Paige on the other hand made my skin crawl. The end makes me curious about Adam and his boss.
Love this series and this book! Fell in love with both Tyler and Jace. They were off the charts hot!!! I can't wait for the next book! I'm starting it as soon as I finish this review!!!!

This was a very fast paced story. It didn't develop the characters as much as the previous stories, but it was still remarkable. Jace is a beautiful, but flawed young man with a similar past as Tyler. When Tyler and Jace meet, Tyler turns their first so called "date" into FUBAR. To Jace, he just seems like everyone that came before him. This relationship between these two plays out very refreshing and romantically. I thought this was beautiful, romantic and remarkable.
So happy to see the interaction and update with Jimmy and Eli. Can't wait to see what Adam gets up to in the next book UNMASK. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS AMAZING SERIES!!!!!
